Rent: SS Car Rental - Iceland = Carland ..unless you rather be stuck on a tour bus w/ a lamb sandwich going from gift shop to gift shop lol.

Speak: Icelandic - No worries you”re not in France everyone speaks and loves English

DAY 1: The Blue Lagoon

9am: Arrive at KEF - grab a Vegan Hummus Sandwich @ Kaffiter in airport

10am: Drive to The Blue Lagoon (Admission $30 euro )

11am: Eat lunch @ Lava Restaurant or Blue Cafe

4pm: Check in to Reykjavik4you Apartments

5pm: Drive to Madurli fandi - Health Food Store

6pm: Dinner @ A Naestu Grosum

8pm: Nite nite - BRING EYEMASK!! ..teehee

 

DAY 2: Explore Reykjavik

8am: Cook breakfast w/ Madurli fandi food

9am: Hit the Town!!

9:10am: Hallgrimskirkja -Lutheran church built in 1937 to resemble basalt lava flow. It is known for its large organ and modern design. The churches observation deck offers a amazing views of the city. In front, stands a statue Angels Camp of Leif Ericson, the explorer thought to be the first of North America.

10am: Þjóðminjasafn Íslands (National History Museum)- several floors of Iceland chronological history from Viking period to current pop culture.

11am: Landnamssyningin (The Settlement Exhibition) - Large Viking -aged Longhouse belonging to Iceland”s first official settlers around 870 AD. It is the oldest archeological find in Iceland.

11:30pm Walk Reykjavik historic midtown harbor, Harpa Reykjavik Concert Hall and Austurvollur square.

12pm: Lunch @ Ecstasy”s Heart-Garden

1pm: Laugavegur Street -stroll along the main shopping street in town

1:30pm: Þjóðmenningarhúsið (The Culture House) -Houses Viking”s Medieval Manuscripts referred to as “Eddas” and “Sagas.”

2:30pm: Kjarvalsstadir Art Museum - permanent exhibition of key works by one of Iceland’s most beloved landscape painters, Jóhannes S. Kjarval.

3:30pm: Höfði house - The house that ended the Cold War

4pm: Sigurjon Olafsson sculpture museum - walk along the shore to seafront building displaying sculptures.

5 pm: Perlan (“The Pearl”) is a mirrored glass dome with six cylindrical water tanks concerted into a tourist attraction..DRIVE.

5:20pm: Saga Museum - Inside one of the Perlan tanks the museum walks you through Iceland’s Viking history.

6pm: Grocery Shopping @ Yggdrasill **Stock up on food for our road trip and breakfast/ Lunch food!

7pm: Dinner @ Greann Kostur

8:30pm: BED TIME

 

DAY 3: THe GOLDEN CIRCLE

8am: Reykjavik to Þjórsárdalur 1:36 hrs Best Views of Iceland”s most notorious volcano Hekla (Stop in Hekla Center to see seismometer reading)

10am: Hekla Center to Háifoss - Iceland”s 2nd tallest waterfall

11am: Háifoss to Pjodveldisbaerinn - reconstruction of a Viking Settlement

12pm: Pjodveldisbaerinn to Gullfoss - drive on the strong to see Gjain gorge - Gullfoss “Golden Falls” most iconic waterfall in Iceland ..Eat Pack Vegan Lunch.

1:30am: Gullfoss to Geysir Hot Springs 10 min drive - Witness eruptions of the Strokkur

3:30pm: Geysir Hot Springs to Þingvellir National Park (law rock)

6pm: Dinner @ Nudluskalin

7:30pm: Live music performance at local pubs, stop in Kaffi Babalu for a vegan soy chamomile tea latte & vegan carrot cake.

 

DAY 4: - Vik”s Black Beaches 0r Glacial Lagoons

9am: Reyjavik to Bizarre Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon…FULL of Parading Icebergs!! ..Too Far (4hr drive)

 

9am: Reykjavik to VIK (2hr drive): Reynisdrangar Basalt Sea Stacks and Reynisfijara Black Beach

12pm: Take Route 215 from the Ring Road to the pebbly Reynisfjara Beach on the western side of Reynisfjall, and peer into the spellbinding sea caves Halsanefshellir.

1pm: Halsanefshellir to Dyrholaey -nature reserve with bustling bird cliffs and iconic rock archway over the sea.

2pm: Dyrholaey to village of Skogar

3pm: Village of Skogar to Selfoss - Late Lunch @ Cafe Graena Kannan

 

DAY 5: -Snaefellsnes Peninsula or Ferry trip to Videy

9am: Reykjavik to The Settlement Centre - In two exhibitions The Settlement Centre tells the Saga of The Settlement of Iceland and Iceland´s most famous viking and first poet Egill Skallagrimsson. The Settlement Centre a Viking period longhouse from about the year 930AD. The stone foundations and walls can be viewed by visitors. It is the oldest archeological find in Iceland.

11am: The Settlement Centre to Snaefellsnes Peninsula - to go snowmobiling.

9am: Ferry from Reykjavik to Viðey - to see John Lennon”s IMAGINE PEACE TOWER by Yoko Ono

    It was such a beautiful and relaxing trip/adventure! The vegan friendly options were so plentiful and enjoyable, living in Iceland would be a breeze!
